About

Mary Jones is a visual development artist who focuses on background art and concept design. She was born on October 31, 2001 in North Carolina; but lived in Virginia her whole life, splitting time between her dad’s house and her mom’s house in separate cities. Her father was a nerd and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, so he taught her how to draw while introducing her to a world of comic books, cartoons, and Quentin Tarantino which started her love for art in pop culture. 

Mary won awards at art exhibitions throughout high school, then graduated in 2019 at 17 years old as a Graduate of Distinction and National Art Honors Society honor. From there, she was accepted into the Communication Arts program at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the age of 20. In April of 2024, she was hired by Chatmoss Country Club as their Events Manager and Marketing Director. She uses Canva to create flyers to market the Club and promote Events hosted at the Club. She has found a new love at Chatmoss as the Event Manager, as it is the perfect combination of Communication and Design.

In her free time, Mary enjoys illustrating colorful environments and fan art of media she loves. She also enjoys graphic design and enjoys filling her portfolio with a variety of simple/cute styles, as well as very realistic renders to widen her capabilities. She is currently working on designing thumbnails of the Town of Ridgeway's Love Works sign.

Mary hopes to someday become a family-friendly art and gaming content creator on YouTube or Twitch to teach children various ways of letting their creativity guide them. ♡
